Ron Gabriel is a magazine industry veteran who worked for Seventeen, The New York Times Upfront, Cosmopolitan, US Weekly and Rolling Stone. He grew up in northern New England where he loved exploring old graveyards and places rumored to be haunted. Late nights he devoured horror fiction from Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Peter Straub. He has a BA in Journalism, and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. He loves AlbariƱo wine, Japanese cuisine, and punk/new wave music. He lives in NYC with his husband and four fish. The Banished is his first novel, and will appeal to readers who love occult thrillers like The Outsider, by Stephen King, Baby Teeth, by Zoje Stage, and A Discovery of Witches, by Deborah Harkness.
